Fruitfulness isn’t measured by wealth or reproduction. John 15

Fruitfulness isn’t measured by wealth or reproduction.

Checking through the Old Testament, fruitfulness generally focused on reproduction, multiplication and wealth. But ever since Christ came, fruitfulness was given a new meaning and only a particular set of people can be fruitful in this context.

May I burst it to your ears that the kind of fruitfulness Jesus introduced is neither measured by the number of children you give birth to nor by how wealthy you are.

John 15:5 KJV
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Jesus didn’t reproduce, and He was fruitful

Jesus Christ, Apostle Paul and several apostles were not married not to talk of reproducing. And they are very much fruitful. Many Apostles of old were not very much wealthy but they were fruitful.

This is enough to convince you that the kind of fruitfulness Christ is exclamating on isn’t the fruit of the womb.

Now having the understanding that fruitfulness isn’t measured by wealth or reproduction, How then do we measure fruitfulness?

How Do We measure fruitfulness?

Fruitfulness is measured by the extent at which one cultivates the WILL Of God to yield result.

What Is The will of God?

There are several will of God but we’ll elaborate on just one of them.

Ephesians 1:5 KJV
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

God wants us to have a relationship with Him by becoming His children

He first created a ruler {man}, but man strayed and became servants to the devil.

He then wanted a relationship with man again, and not just a mere relationship but a blood related one. {SONS}.

The only way He can adopt us as sons is to reconcile us back to Him through the blood of His Only begotten son {Jesus Christ}.

Revelation 5:9 KJV
for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

However, Christ didn’t just die for us to live freely for ourselves. He died for us to live for Him and do what He wants.

2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

And for us to live for Him, He gave unto everyone who is in Christ the ministry of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Therefore, our fruitfulness is tied to how much time we commit to the ministry given unto us. And how much persons we are able to convince and make to reconcile with God.

Oh, you didn’t know the ministry of preaching the Gospel is for everyone?. I believe you now know.

Ephesians 4:11-13 KJV

[11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

And if you really want to be fruitful like Jesus said in John 15:5 KJV, you need to commit time and live for the ministry given unto you.

How can we bear fruits?

John 15:4,5 KJV
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Only those who abide in Christ can be fruitful. Without Christ you can never do anything successful not to talk off being fruthful.

A branch can only bear fruit when it is attached to the tree. When a branch is been cut off, it dries up in no time..

The reward of not abiding

If a man do not abide in Christ, he can never be fruitful. And every branch that is not fruitful is cut down and thrown in fire.

John 15:6 KJV
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Therefore, Abide in Christ and let Him abide in you. That’s the only escape route from fire🔥.
