Divine Direction

Memory verse: In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:6 KJV)

What is Divine? Eternal, holy, or otherwise God-like.

Meaning of Direction: The body of persons who guide or manage a matter; the directorate. Synonyms: Guidance

Definition of Divine Direction: simply put, being guided by God.

What if Abraham didn’t obeyed God’s leading by not relocating to the unknown country which God spoke to him about? What would have happened to King David and even Israel, if he had not obeyed God’s leading to pursue, overtake and utmostly recover all that their heartless enemies took from them? What would become of us if we don’t walk in the direction of God for our lives?

On one fateful morning, Esther, a 200 level student of a prestigious University in Nigeria, prayed to God concerning a core examination she was to do that day. She asked Him to totally guide her to the right hall, seat, and computer, and also asked Him to order her to tick the correct answers. On entering the hall, the Holy Spirit directed her to the right hand side of the hall. Without any further ado, she walked briskly and sat in front of the last computer on the first row.

When she inputted her log in details, the computer did not respond. So, she had to stand up immediately in search of a working computer. Immediately she looked behind her, the Holy Spirit directed her to a certain chair on which she finally sat on. She repeated the same log in procedures, and began her exam. After she had answered all questions, she proceeded to submit. Her score was displayed on the screen almost immediately and she marveled at how excellently she had performed. She couldn’t stop thanking God.

The importance of being guided by God!

• He knows the end of our life’s journey from the beginning (Jeremiah 46:10).
• Safety is guaranteed (Psalm 23:2b – 4).
• His will is to give us an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). The devil doesn’t have any of such good and perfect agenda.
• Hope (Psalm 37:23-24).
• Eternal life and security (John 10:10).
