WHEN DEATH KEEPS HAPPENING

Since the beginning of the second quarter of the year, I heard about quite a number deaths of some people I know so closely and quite far off. It’s disheartening truly, but who can we question? No one. Honestly!

Before proceeding further, I’d love you to read the message contained in the poem below:

Oh! death, where is thy sting?
The bell at the doorpost, you never cared to ring, neither did you ever give a warning sign.
But, now we’ve been taught a lesson, that your unannounced visit could be now, later today, or maybe tomorrow.
Although, we’ve now got the victory, but we’ve learned to wait for your coming: and while we wait,
We shall live, give, do good, pray, love, share, preach, live holy, make impacts and abound in the grace of God who sent us.

Thank God for the victory we have already in Christ. It’s good to know that some have died and made it to Heaven. Though, some may not physically die, they’ll be caught up in the clouds to meet with Jesus Christ and the saints that have gone before us.

But how horrific it would eventually be if after your life on earth, you still don’t make it to Heaven! Oh, no! I bet you, you’ll miss a lot. The glory there cannot be compared to the earthly one. That’s why you shouldn’t CONFORM to this world, but be ye TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind – which can only be done through proper alignment with God’s word (Romans 12:2).

God’s plans for us are good; Hallelujah! Reread the verse above to see that. At the beginning of creation, He wanted us to be immortal like He is. But, the fall of man led to some deprivations.

So, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus: how lovely! 💞 Jesus died so that we can be saved from blazing hell 👹🔥 and finally have the assurance of peaceful eternity in Heaven with Him.

I mean, you should read the book of Revelations (I just began)! You’ll be in awe of the new Jerusalem void of sickness and pain, death, tears, poverty, and every other negative stuff you could think of. That should be your dream city and life. WE all want to go there!

Nevertheless, it’s very vital to consider these prerequisites amongst many others (do well to share your thoughts after reading):

PREPARING FOR DEATH

Every day a man lives, he draws closer to His grave.

  • Follow the Jesus way. Simply put: be born again. Believe in Jesus, confess your sins, invite the Holy Spirit and desist from EVERYTHING that could lead to sin.

John 14:6– Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

It’s impossible to access God and/or the Heavenly mansions without knowing and going through Jesus.

  • Never fear! There’s no fear in love… (1 John 4:18). Revelations 21:6 states that the fearful will be cast into the lake of fire (that’s entering where you’ve been avoiding all because of fear); I cast it out of your life in Jesus’ name. Amen. Therefore, because God is love and you’re in Him, and He in you, you needn’t fear death as a child of God. You should only pray to be holy and steadfast in God to the end. Verse 4 of the hymn, In Christ Alone says thus:

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

That’s hope right there!

  • Do good and keep on praying! The Bible says God anointed Jesus… Who went about doing good… (Acts 10:38). You’ll only be remembered by your deeds. So let’s make our lives count by living and impacting positively into the lives around us. Preach to everyone you have the opportunity to do so to. Help others, speak hope and light, give when you have/can, serve God and humanity wholeheartedly .

My uncle’s (in-law) sudden demise made me realize this. He made his life count when he was alive. And don’t neglect the place of prayer (Luke 18:1). Prayer does many things to change a man’s life – knowingly and unknowingly. PRAY for those around you, sinners and saints alike.

We will also be judged on the Last Day, by what we did here on the earth. Matthew 25:31-40 explains that clearly. Do well to read it up!

Conclusively, 1 Corinthians 15:58 admonishes us to be loyal to God and immovable, knowing that God rewards every or our labour in Him.

Do you have any other suggestions as to what to do while waiting for Christ’s coming? If yes, then please share! ✨
